Music - A Way of life.

Born in Kilwinning, Ayrshire, Davie Anderson grew up in a creative home where music was always a feature of daily life, with the old piano being a focal point in the family home. Davie’s mother, Barbara, played the piano, was a member of Garnock Choral Society and was involved in various musical circles when the family moved to Kirkmichael, and then on to Crosshill near Maybole. He was inspired at an early age, and the music of Old Scotia lit a flame which burns to this day.

However, his own musical journey truly began whilst he was recuperating after a serious road accident at the age of 13, when a friend of the family, Donald Johnstone, handed him an old, two-stringed Spanish guitar. . . and from there, he never looked back.

Encouraged by family and friends, he quickly discovered the endless possibilities that music provided, and soon enough, found himself teaming up with other local musicians to form bands; playing gigs and entertaining people from an early age, with a wide range of musical pursuits coming to follow.

Mixing the genres of Folk, Americana, Rockabilly & Blues across a variety of instruments and styles, his influences are as varied as Big Country, Buddy Holly and Robert Burns. He has taken his music to USA, Germany, Ireland and Northern Spain. His love for the native beauty of Scotland, and of the wider outdoors continue to inspire his music.
